ZonesCorp, a UAE based government-owned developer, announced that it is ready to sell the first phase of its Razeen worker accommodation project located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. The marketing of Razeen A, the first phase of Razeen Labor City, has been started on property websites such as bayut.com and dubizzle.
The project is spread over 640,000 sq. mtr. and can accommodate around 100,000 labourers in the four identical compounds. One compound has 18 three-storey, dormitory-style accommodation buildings, 3 three-storey kitchen and dining buildings, a three-storey clinic, a three-storey administration and security building, a single-storey shopping centre, a mosque, 16 guardrooms and landscaped recreation areas. The city will be operational by the end of this year that is to complete infrastructure.
As the construction and manufacturing industry has been growing in the UAE, the need for worker accommodation has increased. ZonesCorp now owns 28 labour camps which house more than 450,000 labourers from the industrial sector. Till now, the developer and operator have invested around Dh29 billion from local as well as international companies to the company’s economic zone.
“Demand for housing outstrips supply in this segment of the market as a result of rapidly growing industrial and manufacturing sectors and, therefore, represents an excellent opportunity for investors, particularly due to its proximity to the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi,” says Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman, ZonesCorp.
