The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced and it has won multiple domestic as well as international orders total worth of Rs 2,170 crore comprising many business segments. Winning the contract of Rs 1,169 in Oman is the major highlight among all the deals.
The infrastructure company’s Power Transmission & Distribution Business has secured an order from Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC to take a turnkey construction of the 400/132 kV Qabel Grid Station and all other associated works. With this deal, the company strengthen its position in substation segment of highest voltage level in Oman. L&T also signed two deals for design, supply, construction and commissioning of five 132kV substations in UAE.
Apart from its international achievements, the company has won several contracts across India including states like West Bengal, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
In West Bengal, L&T will have to enhance the sub-transmission & distribution network in the urban area of Nadia district for West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company under the Integrated Power Development Scheme.
Its Water & Effluent Treatment Business has received an engineering, procurement and construction order from Rajasthan Urban Drinking Water Sewerage and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (RUDSICO). The contract is worth Rs 360 crore and under AMRUT scheme to execute of a sewerage project with treatment facilities that are spanned over three towns Bharatpur, Gangapur and Hindaun.
To be a little elaborative, the company needs to build 354 kms of sewage network connecting almost 40,000 houses. Moreover, it has to construct eight sewage treatment plants with a total capacity 24.75 million litres per day (MLD) using Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) Technology.
L&T also won a contract for building commercial and residential towers of worth Rs 320 crore in Mumbai through its Building & Factories Business where the company will have the tasks of civil shell and core, and finishing works. The business also has won many orders total worth of Rs 321 crore from its existing clients across various business segments.
