The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) simplifies the building approval process in Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA) by launching a single window clearance.
Now, CMA builders expect all approvals to completed at the click of a button. CMA includes Greater Chennai Corporation and parts of Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts.
The announcement was made by Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, Housing & Urban Development Secretary, at a property and real-estate exhibition FAIRPRO 2017 which was organised by Chennai chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (Credai).
In this soon to be built facility, the builders can fill out an online form with all the details on a single screen which can directly be submitted to CMDA. The online page is expected to be created within next two to three months.
Dharmendra also gave his comment on affordable housing shortage in Chennai by quoting, “There are almost 1.2 million units, ranging between 6 lakh and 7 lakh per unit, of shortage in the affordable housing sector.”
